Today we are talking pancakes. Not just any pancakes. Big, beautiful Chocolate Chip Protein Pancakes! That’s right. This glorious stack of pancakes you see isn’t full of sugar and fried up in loads of butter. These pancakes are grain free, packed with protein powder and sugar free chocolate chips!

Ingredients for Chocolate Chip Pancakes 

These easy protein pancakes use many of the same ingredients that regular pancakes do, so I’m sure you already have many of them in your pantry!   • Dry ingredients: almond flour, granular sweetener, baking powder and protein powder.
  • Wet ingredients: almond milk, melted butter, and eggs. 
  • Add ins: This recipe calls for sugar free chocolate chips, which you can skip or you can use another add in such as nuts, or dried fruit. 

How to make Pancakes with Protein Powder

These are such easy protein pancakes to make. First, combine the dry ingredients in a bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk the wet ingredients together. Slowly blend the wet ingredients into the dry and mix well.  Next, gently stir in the chocolate chips. 

Grease a skillet or griddle with coconut oil, then use a 1/4 cup measuring cup to transfer the batter to your skillet. Finally, cook until bubbles form, then flip. Serve as is, or drizzle with your favorite syrup, peanut butter, almond butter, etc.

Can I Freeze Double Chocolate Protein Pancakes? 

Yes! These protein powder pancakes freeze very well. Lay flat on a baking tray, then freeze until hardened. Once firm enough to stack, seal inside a freezer bag. To thaw, warm in the microwave or toaster. These chocolate chip protein pancakes are perfect for meal prep!

Tips for Making Chocolate Protein Powder Pancakes

  • You can use any protein powder flavor you prefer. 
  • Substitute the chocolate chips with sugar free white chocolate, butterscotch, etc. 
  • Coconut oil provides a great taste and texture, however you can use another oil if you prefer. 
  • If you aren’t counting carbs, you can use regular milk instead of almond milk.
