Keto Sausage Veggie Sheet Pan Dinner
This Keto Sausage Veggie Sheet Pan Dinner uses one pan, is ready in 30 minutes and has 6 net carbs per serving!
It’s no secret I am a big fan of quick and easy dinner recipes! Two of the reader favorites on my sites are these Broccoli Cheddar Foil Packs, and my One Pan Sausage Cabbage Skillet. These dishes come together so quickly and readers seem to love how versatile and simple these recipes are!
Today I am sharing a recipe that fits perfectly into that genre. This Keto Sausage Veggie Sheet Pan dinner is the ultimate busy night dinner. It requires only 5 ingredients, one pan and 30 minutes of cook time! It is easy to customize based on your families preferences to make everyone happy!
Ingredients for Sausage Sheet Pan Dinner
As always, you will find the recipe, instructions and option to print below, but this is a quick overview of the ingredients you will need for this recipe.
- Sausage: any keto-friendly rope sausage such as kielbasa, andouille, smoked sausage.
- Broccoli: fresh, uncooked broccoli florets
- Bell Pepper: I used red, but you can use your favorite color variety.
- Olive Oil
- Cajun seasoning: or your favorite all purpose seasoning blend.
How to Make Keto Sausage Veggie Sheet Pan Dinner
- Lightly spray the pan with cooking spray. Place the sliced sausage evenly in one layer.
- In a mixing bowl combine the broccoli and bell pepper. Toss with the olive oil and seasonings. Place the vegetables in the pan with the sausage. Try to evenly distribute the ingredients, it is okay if things overlap a little bit because everything shrinks as it cooks.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, toss and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until the vegetables have reached your desired texture.
Can I Use Other Veggies?
Of course! Use any veggies you’d like. Just keep in mind that different veggies may have different cook times. If you are keeping keto these are some low carb vegetables that would work well in this recipe:
- Asparagus Spears: Remove the tough ends.
- Brussels Sprouts: I recommend slicing in half and placing cut side down on the pan to keep the cooking time in line with the sausage. Roasting full Brussels will require quite a bit more cooking time.
- Zucchini Slices
- Mushrooms
- Green Beans
Can I Use Frozen Broccoli?
I find fresh broccoli works better in this recipe. While you can roast frozen broccoli the temperature needs to be very high to produce a nice crispy, tender texture. Normally, frozen broccoli is roasted at 425 degrees F, or 450 degrees F. The high temperature is needed to remove the excess moisture in frozen broccoli.
This recipe is cooked at a lower temperature, so I find the texture of frozen broccoli doesn’t work as well as fresh.
Tips for Making This Sheet Pan Dinner
- To make clean up easier you can line the pan with foil or parchment paper.
- If you cut the broccoli florets off the stalk yourself, be sure to save the stalk for other recipes! It’s also edible, so don’t let it go to waste.
- Cut the ingredients as uniform as possible so the dish cooks evenly.
- If you like your sausage to brown and crisp as it cooks, place the sausage so it sits flatly on the sheet pan.
