How to Season Black Beans
This recipe seriously could not be any easier. First, heat a sauce pan to medium heat, add your undrained black beans, hot sauce and spices. Next, reduce your heat to medium low and allow the beans to simmer for at least 15 minutes, but no longer than 30. And that’s it, your mexican black beans are done!
 Are black beans healthy?
Yes! Black beans pack a punch with nutrients. They are rich in protein, antioxidants and fiber, making them an ideal food!
Is this black bean bowl good for meal prep?
Yes! These beans can be prepared and kept in an airtight container in the fridge for 5 days. These tex mex bowls are perfect for lunches, burritos or nachos! Another great option is to combine these beans with this Homemade Enchilada Sauce to make some tasty enchiladas!

How do I make a Loaded Tex Mex bowl?
To make a Loaded Tex Mex bowl, I chopped up some tomatoes, green onions and avocados. I made this Crock Pot Zesty Chicken and threw it on top, but you could use grilled chicken or a rotisserie chicken. I cooked up a big pot of rice, but if you’re watching your carbs, this Cilantro Lime Cauliflower Rice is keto friendly! Layer your beans on top of the rice, then add your chicken and chopped vegetables. Top with your Tex Mex sauce and tortilla strips!
